Before you start
Find out who can join, what you can learn and how placements work.
Who can join?
For this pilot, you need an NGO, charity or hotel referral. The programme criteria are that you are 18 years or over, have completed Class 10, are unemployed or not in regular education, and live in India. If you have a referral, you can use the full online programme even if you do not meet these criteria.
How much does it cost?
The online training and the Youth Employability Programme certificate are free. Job simulations are optional. Three are available now, and two more are coming soon.
How long does it take?
There is no fixed timeline. You can learn at your own pace, do a little at a time and pick up where you left off.
What is the certificate?
You earn the Youth Employability Programme certificate when you finish every training lesson in all three core courses: Life Skills, Workplace Communication and Intro to Hospitality. Job simulations and career pathways are optional and do not count towards your certificate. You can add it to your CV and show what you have learned.
How does the in-person placement work?
If you are 18 years or over, live in Delhi/NCR or Mumbai, and meet the programme criteria, you can apply after you sign in and finish every training lesson in Life Skills, Workplace Communication and Intro to Hospitality. Job simulations are optional and do not count toward your certificate or application. Places depend on availability. A placement or job is not guaranteed. Accommodation and transport are not provided. You need to make your own arrangements.
Are accommodation and transport provided?
Accommodation and transport are not provided. You need to make your own arrangements.
What if I live outside Delhi/NCR or Mumbai?
You can complete the full online programme wherever you live. If you are 18 years or over and live in another city in India, you can register your interest after creating an account, even if you do not meet the other programme criteria. This is not an application. If placement options expand, we will contact you, but this does not guarantee a place. You do not need to travel to Delhi/NCR or Mumbai to register your interest. Accommodation and transport are not provided. You need to make your own arrangements.
How do referrals work?
For this pilot, you need a referral from an NGO, charity or hotel to sign up. Choose who referred you when you arrive. Your answer is filled in at sign-up. If you choose Other as your source, you can browse and ask an NGO or hotel about a referral.
